Kokoleka, Hawaiian Chocolate
aloha.
As growers and makers of 100% Hawaiian chocolate we believe we’ve got something very special here and we’d like to share it with you. Our 1,000-acre farm is located 10 minutes above Downtown Hilo. E hele mai! E komo mai! You are welcome here! We are proud to say we are taking every precaution to ensure all of our safety. Masks are optional to enter the Gift Shop and to take a tour. Masks are available for guests upon request and of course, we’ve got lots of sanitizer. We want everyone to feel safe here while still having a good time!
the kokoleka shop.
Welcome to the world of kokoleka, the Hawaiian word for chocolate (and therefore, our favorite Hawaiian word). We are proud to be a completely vertically integrated cacao farm. Why should you care? We have full control of growing and crafting ethically produced, environmentally responsible, small batch chocolate with a distinctively Hawaiian terroir.
tree-to-chocolate tour.
We offer a fun Tree-to-Chocolate tour where you’ll meander through cacao orchards, pick a fresh pod from the trees, follow our chocolate-making process and hang out in our chocolate lounge. We offer the tour 6 days a week, 6 times a day, and it lasts for about an hour. If you’d like to book a tour, we recommend booking online or calling us in advance as our tour availabilities fill up quickly. As of December 6th, 2021 we will be opening up to multiple parties for each tour availability. This means there will be other guests accompanying you and your group on the tour. If you’d like a Private Tour Experience you can call to request it. Mahalo from all of us at Lavaloha Chocolate Farm!

Behind the Scenes ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Loved the Lavaloha tour! Met awesome guides whose passions and energy were contagious and learned so much about the origins, current workings and future visions on the 1,000 acre farm. I loved how we got to look behind the scenes on how cacao is processed and eventually made into the awesome-looking and yummy lavaloha chocolate.
